“The B&B is lovely and is perfectly situated to enjoy the entire Big Island. The setting is inspiring, relaxing, and gorgeous.”

“Our stay at the Luana Inn was the best travel accommodation experience that we have ever had. We enjoyed every moment of our 12 night stay! The Inn is nestled in a quiet and beautifully landscaped hillside location, off the beaten path and away from the typical tourist crowds. It is still conveniently located with easy access to beautiful beaches, amazing snorkeling, hiking or shopping or whatever it is you decide you want to do on the island. If it is nothing you want to go and do other than stay pool side and enjoy the breath taking panoramic ocean view and amazing sunsets, you enjoy comfort, privacy and total relaxation. Breakfasts served included different home baked breads, fresh local fruits and a variation of other carefully prepared and tasty main dishes. Ken and Erin are gracious, helpful and thoughtful hosts, going out of their way to ensure you are comfortable and want for nothing.”

“The location is excellent for water activities, hiking at volcano, and most of all, RELAXING. Each day, we contemplated staying at the Inn because it was so inviting with lounge chairs, hammock, great sound system for Hawaiian tunes, and a refreshing pool. The views from the Inn are unforgettable, just as the hospitality from the owners. No need for spending your precious time researching the best bets on this island, because Ken and Erin have composed guides and offer personal and valuable recommendations for the best activities, beaches, hiking, eating, snorkeling, and kayaking. They have taken the work out of vacationing for guests and have, obviously, worked hard to ensure an incredible time for their lucky visitors”.

“When planning our trip to Hawaii, I looked at a ton of websites. Right away the Luana Inn stood out head and shoulders above all others that I found. And the property exceeded my expectations! The view could not be matched, I almost didn't want to leave to see anything else! The location is perfect...walking distance to the beach, short drives to awesome snorkeling and good restaurants. We were in Hawaii to see the Ironman World Championships in Kona and wanted to have somewhere that we could really come back to, to get away from the bustle of Kona at Ironman. The Luana was better than perfect for this.”

“The Luana Inn is the PERFECT modern B&B. The property is easy to get to, gorgeous and clean, and has incredible views of Kealakekua Bay. The room is spotless and tastefully decorated, no cliché Victorian decorations like a lot of B&Bs, and no Hawaiian kitsch. The hosts, Ken and Erin, are great people. A young couple that really cares for their property and really listens to their guests for feedback. A better B+B cannot be found on the Big Island.”

”Ken and Erin were great hosts. It was like visiting friends. They have made an effort to not only leave you to your privacy, but also be available to answer any questions about the island that you may have. They have really done their homework, too. Their suggestions were superb!
The actual location is in one of the best spots on the island. It just so happens that that particular side of the island has the best weather.”

“This was our first trip to the Big Island, but it will not be our last. We would put staying at Luana Inn at the top of our list of things to do next time. The views were fabulous; the room clean, comfortable and spacious; the extra amenities very convenient; and the homemade bread was simply delicious. Best of all were the hosts Erin and Ken. They are just delightful, so friendly and helpful with tips about the area. We arrived to stay at a B & B and left feeling like we had visited friends.”

“The room was comfortable and beautifully decorated and the hosts, Ken and Erin, made us feel like old friends. The location is about 1 mile from (and about 300 feet above) Kealakekua Bay which makes it a short walk to the beach but still high up enough to get some of the cool breezes that you won't get at a beachside location. We were so happy with the Luana Inn that we cut short one of our "day" trips so we could come back and enjoy the afternoon by the pool instead.”

“One reason we picked Luana Inn was: they had microwave, kitchen sink, fridge and extra sleeper in the room. We thought our room was large for the price. And were pleased to find "little extras" like a drying rack for our wet gear in the closet. The atmosphere was relaxed and serene, modern, nice design, upscale, with beautiful unobstructed views. We brought our dinner out and ate poolside at one of the tables while looking out over the ocean, with the glow of an unbelievably gorgeous sunset. “

“We absolutely loved this place. Beautiful view of the ocean, excellent hosts, great breakfasts--and a bed so comfortable we came home and purchased the same one for our own home! If you are looking for a serene place to relax away from the 'resort scene", then this is the place to stay. The snorkeling was excellent (that is why we came to South Kona) and very close by. We will definitely come back here on our next trip to the Big Island.”

“Breakfast every morning was better than any restaurant we went to on the island. Most of the time we were so full from breakfast that we did not eat until dinnertime. The breakfasts included, eggs, egg dishes (quiches etc.), pancakes with fresh fruit in the batter, the best French toast I have ever had, fresh fruit, Portuguese sausage, freshly baked breads (scones, muffins and brioche), and fresh juice and Kona coffee (which is available for purchase).”

“This place is a true paradise. The Inn is run by a lovely couple, Erin and Ken, who are the ultimate hosts. We are scuba divers and the facilities near our room were perfect for washing out our gear and setting them out to dry on a long bench outside our room. The diving at “Two Step” near Honaunau or “Place of Refuge” (approx. 15 min. away) was excellent. We had our own lanai with patio table and chairs and gas grill. The washer and dryer off our lanai were especially appreciated. Overall, this was a very positive experience and we absolutely will stay at the Luana Inn again upon our return to Hawaii.”

“My husband and I didn't know much about the Big Island when we booked our five-night honeymoon stay at the Luana Inn. But we couldn't have picked a better spot than South Kona, with its laidback, small town, far from the maddening crowd feel--or a better B&B than the gorgeous Luana Inn. Erin and Ken are wonderful hosts with plenty of insider tips on the best snorkel spots and the most thrilling hikes at Volcanoes, not to mention the grooviest restaurants. They're also excellent cooks and conversationalists, which made breakfast time a treat. And the sunsets! Buy a six pack and a pack of chips and plop yourselves down on the chaise lounges for a truly stunning view.”

“This is more than a Bed and Breakfast. It is a relaxing place with wonderful amenities and delicious food that will make you not want to leave.”
